AUGUSTA, ME – Maine Conservation Voters Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment and pro-democracy candidates to public office, recently announced its endorsement of Nicole Grohoski for Senate District 7 in a special election to be held Tuesday, June 14. The seat was formerly held by Sen. Louis Luchini who resigned from the position this winter. The district encompasses Hancock County.
“Scoring a perfect 100% on MCV’s 2021 Environmental Scorecard, Nicole Grohoski is a champion of efforts to protect Maine’s clean air and water and our climate future,” said Beth Ahearn, Director of Government Affairs. “Grohoski was instrumental in the passage of a first-in-the-nation bill to make big corporations pay municipalities for the cost of disposal of recycling package waste, legislation to expand Maine’s Ecological Reserve System, and a bill to ban the use of pollinator-killing pesticides containing neonicotinoids on lawns and home gardens.”
Grohoski recently completed her second term representing Ellsworth and Trenton (HD #132) in the Maine House of Representatives.
Maine Conservation Voters Action Fund works to elect candidates to public office who will stand up for a clean environment, climate change action, and the health of all Maine people.
